The complete character roster for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has been leaked, revealing an even larger selection than expected.
As one of the most anticipated anime games set for release in 2024, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero marks the return of the Budokai series, the first since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 debuted on the PS2 two decades ago.
A video surfaced on September 13, just weeks before the October 11 launch, showcasing the extensive roster and several unexpected characters. If you thought the character list was already impressive, prepare for even more surprises.
This leak originated from a video uploaded prematurely by the Japanese gaming website Dengeki Online, which quickly gained traction on social media.
The character select screen reveals a plethora of unannounced fighters, including iconic movie villains like Cooler, Janemba, Bojack, DBZ Broly, Lord Slug, Turles, and more.
Apparently that video of the crazy roster in #SparkingZero was leaked IN Japan accidentally by Dengeki Online because they received a video early and put the wrong date. That’s happened before but it’s very rare. pic.twitter.com/ts2Ktr4ph3

Furthermore, the leak confirms the inclusion of characters from Dragon Ball Super, such as Cabba, God form Toppo, and Frost.
In a notable addition, a child version of Goku from the upcoming anime, Dragon Ball Daima, will also be featured. Daima is set to launch on the same day as Sparking Zero.
The base roster has surpassed players’ expectations, featuring 182 playable characters at launch. With DLC on the horizon, this number is likely to exceed 200.

Daima is expected to introduce additional DLC characters, with reports suggesting that Vegeta will receive a long-awaited form in Daima that may be part of a future update.
The leaked roster notably does not include new fan-favorites from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, such as Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo, and Cell Max. It’s likely these characters will be available in the game at a later time.
The excitement for Sparking Zero continues to build, and this roster could potentially be one of the largest in fighting game history, significantly outpacing other games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which features 89 playable characters.
