Leaked Players and Upgrades for EA FC 25 Road to the Knockouts Promo

The first promotional event in EA FC 25 is set to be the highly anticipated Road to the Knockouts. This event allows for player cards to receive upgrades depending on the progression of teams in the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, and Women’s Champions League.

As the Ultimate Team season kicks off, players have quickly assembled squads featuring top talents like Haaland and Mbappe. However, the excitement doesn’t end there as more special cards are expected to be released regularly during various promo events throughout the season.

Road to the Knockouts is the first promo of the season, so here’s when it’s likely to start, along with a list of players that have already been leaked.

What is the RTTK Start Date?

The Road to the Knockouts event is scheduled to launch on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EST / 6 PM BST, based on leaks from acknowledged insiders ‘FUT Sheriff’ and ‘Donk Trading.’

At this point, it’s unclear how long the event will last, especially since EA FC 25’s full release is not until September 27. Consequently, it remains to be seen if a second squad of players will be introduced for all players, or if the RTTK event will be exclusive to early-access users this year.

RTTK Upgrades Explained

In EA FC 25, Road to the Knockout cards will receive stat upgrades based on the performance of their respective teams in the Champions League, Women’s Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League during the group stage. This season, the format has switched to a ‘league phase’ instead of the traditional grouping method, though the upgrade criteria remain largely unchanged.

According to leaked information from ‘Donk Trading,’ here’s the upgrade pathway:

  • Win three games in the league phase: +1 overall rating
  • Team scores in four or more matches: +1 overall rating and a Player Role++
  • Finish in the top two: PlayStyle+ and Player Role++

Notably, the player featured on the card does not need to be on the field or even in the squad for these real-life matches to qualify for upgrades. Thus, if your player is sidelined due to benching or injury but their team performs admirably, your RTTK item will still see enhancements.
