What we know about The Monkey
According to the official synopsis for The Monkey, twin brothers Hal and Bill stumble upon their father’s old monkey toy in the attic and soon after, a string of horrifying deaths begin to take place.
Despite their decision to discard the monkey and go their separate ways, the brothers eventually drift apart over time. However, as the strange deaths resurface, they are forced to put aside their differences and come together once more in order to eradicate the cursed monkey before it claims the lives of their loved ones.
Perkins stated to Bloody Disgusting that his upcoming film will have a tone and feel similar to that of Misery, Creepshow, Gremlins, and American Werewolf, rather than Longlegs.
“It’s as if Robert Zemeckis had taken a small dose of acid and created a Stephen King-esque film about a toy monkey. In my opinion, it would be the perfect movie for both kids and their parents to enjoy together.”
Christian Convery, who gained recognition for his role in Netflix’s Sweet Tooth, will portray the twins in their childhood years, while James will tackle both roles as adults. The cast also includes Elijah Wood, Tatiana Maslany from She-Hulk, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy.
