There is speculation that Wendy’s is planning to bring back 90s nostalgia with a new menu collaboration featuring SpongeBob Squarepants. This leaked information suggests that our food cravings from that decade may finally be fulfilled.
Have you ever had the desire to taste a fictional food from your screen? Wendy’s is planning to introduce a Krabby Patty and an under-the-sea-themed Frosty to satisfy your cravings.
A photo of the menu was leaked on Reddit, revealing an apparent PSA to Wendy’s staff members regarding the upcoming menu launch.

The image that has been leaked reveals a staff announcement dated August 16, 2024, which states that Wendy’s will be launching a collaboration with Krabby Patty. This collaboration will be available in both the US and Canada from early October until early November. The menu is expected to feature the following items:
- Krabby Patty: A fresh cheeseburger loaded with “fresh produce” and an all-new Krabby Patty sauce. Not giving much away here, but after all, it is a secret formula.
- Pineapple Under The Sea Frosty: In honor of SpongeBob’s home, this Frosty will be flavored with vanilla, as well as mango and pineapple puree.
- Hot and Crispy Fries: An already existing menu item, but the menu release states that the burger will be served with Wendy’s signature fries.
The staff memo also discusses the addition of restaurant merchandise to complement the SpongeBob collaboration. Therefore, is this collaboration authentic or is it simply another ploy of the internet?
From our observations, the photograph of the staff announcement appears to be authentic and contains all the necessary details one would expect in a memo. As evidenced by Starbucks, employees typically receive advance notice of upcoming releases several months ahead, thus validating the timeline.
Wendy’s fans may soon be able to hoover up Krabby Pattys.
The collaboration between Wendy’s and SpongeBob was confirmed by a Redditor who claims to work at the fast food chain. According to the Redditor, their manager informed them that the collaboration would take place in October during their shift, which resulted in them feeling extremely excited.
As SpongeBob Squarepants marks its 25th anniversary, this would be the newest addition to a series of product collaborations with Wendy’s. In 2017, the fast-food chain released limited-edition figures to commemorate the release of the SpongeBob movie.
It should also be noted that SpongeBob’s signature red tie is a tribute to Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas, and the square shape of Wendy’s burger patties perfectly mirrors SpongeBob’s square pants.
We all have high hopes that this collaboration is indeed happening, allowing us to fulfill our childhood fantasies of devouring a real Krabby Patty. While we eagerly await confirmation, we can try out the new Arch Burger at McDonald’s in the meantime.
