Leaker claims PS5 Pro release window might not be what everyone expected

According to a credible source, the potential release window for the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro is uncertain.

Despite the lack of confirmation from Sony, the PlayStation 5 Pro is highly anticipated by fans due to the increasing frequency of leaks and reports about the upgraded console.

In his latest report, Tom Henderson, a well-known PlayStation tech leaker at Insider Gaming, has caused uncertainty about the previously anticipated release date of the PS5 Pro in fall 2024.

When questioned about the release of the PS5 Pro, Henderson responded on X/Twitter and hinted to a fan that the console may not be available for release this year, according to the reliable leaker and Insider Gaming owner.

The tweet, which was shared on July 17, 2024, was followed up the following day with a new article on Insider Gaming. In the article, Henderson stated that despite receiving documents last year indicating a Fall 2024 release, he remains uncertain.

Based on Henderson’s statements, there have been doubts expressed by various sources about the possibility of the PS5 Pro being released this year, as there are not many first-party games expected to utilize the upgraded technology of the console.

In addition, his report states that developers are given until July 30th to submit their game applications for PS5 Pro support to Platform Certifications & Operations (CertOps).

He emphasizes that although it may not fully align with the 2024 release date, all future applications released after September 15th must be compatible with the PlayStation 5 Pro. This suggests that there may be additional new games to anticipate.

As of the time of writing, the most recent update received by Henderson confirms that the PS5 Pro release is still expected to happen later this year, despite any uncertainties. We will have to wait anxiously to see if this remains true. As with all leaked information, this latest update should be taken with caution.

Despite this, Henderson makes sure that studios have access to PS5 Pro development kits. Therefore, even though there may not be much news from Sony, we suggest holding onto any extra money you have stashed away for the inevitable release of their upgraded pixel-pushing machine.
