Actress Lee El has recently expressed her discontent regarding the public backlash aimed at the late Kim Sae-ron.

The context of her remarks is significant. Recent claims from Kim Sae-ron’s grieving family suggest that she was involved in a six-year relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun, starting when she was just 15. This claim has led to an escalating discussion regarding the nature of their relationship.

In the wake of Kim Sae-ron’s passing, intimate photos shared on social media had ignited rumors of her relationship with Kim Soo-hyun. However, his agency quickly refuted any romantic connection. The family’s disclosures, shared through the YouTube channel “Garo Sero Institute, ” assert that the two were indeed dating, raising eyebrows due to the age difference, with Kim Soo-hyun being a full 12 years her senior.

This revelation has triggered widespread speculation and accusations of grooming directed at Kim Soo-hyun. His agency, Gold Medalist, responded by clarifying that their relationship began in the summer of 2019, when Kim Sae-ron was already an adult, and continued until the fall of 2020.

As discussions intensified following the public’s reaction, some fans directed their criticism toward Kim Sae-ron and her family. In response, Lee El condemned the double standards inherent in society’s view of minors, stressing the unrealistic expectations placed on adolescents. She posed a critical question: “Does a 15-year-old truly possess full knowledge of the world?”

On the same day, the family of Kim Sae-ron submitted a defamation lawsuit against a YouTuber identified as “A, ” asserting that the individual falsely claimed that Kim Sae-ron fabricated her dating rumors, thereby manipulating public sentiment against her.

Kim Sae-ron demands an official apology

The bereaved family is also seeking an apology from Kim Soo-hyun’s side, denouncing their allegedly misleading statements which have further troubled them. Moreover, they accused Kim Soo-hyun’s agency of applying undue pressure on Kim Sae-ron, notably by sending her two legal notices demanding 700 million KRW in damages related to her DUI incident. They are now contemplating pursuing legal action against Kim Soo-hyun’s camp.
