Lee Hyo-ri’s mother disclosed a hidden truth about Lee Hyo-ri’s birth. As they were preparing to leave, Lee Hyo-ri was reminded of her childhood nickname and inquired about the reasoning behind her name. Her mother replied, “Reflecting on your name now, I believe I chose it wisely. I incorporated ‘Hyo’ from ‘hyodo’ (a filial daughter) and thought, ‘As I age, I will rely on my daughter’, which is why I included ‘Hyo’ in your name”.

Upon hearing the explanation, Lee Hyo-ri responded, “So you chose the name for yourself and not for me? I wish you had given me a name that symbolizes ‘living well’ or something similar.”Lee Hyo-ri’s mother replied, “I advised you to ‘be a good daughter’. And didn’t you grow up to be just that? You are a good daughter, aren’t you?”

When her mother mentioned the plagiarism scandal, Lee Hyo-ri responded, saying, “That was the toughest time.”She went on to share, “During that time, I isolated myself and didn’t leave my hotel room. I even dreaded going back home. I didn’t want to see my parents upset, so I spent three days and four nights alone in my room.”

She continued, “I hadn’t eaten anything and didn’t even have an appetite. Later, the hotel manager knocked on my door. I’m sure he must have been wondering, ‘Was she dead?’”
