Lee Hyori’s Husband Moving to Seoul After 11 Years

On the 11th, Kim Bum-soo uploaded a video titled “I Miss You [Guest: Lee Sang-soon] – Beginner Boss Kim Bum-soo Serves You Personal Coffee”to his YouTube channel.

In the video, Kim Bum-soo inquired with Lee Sang-soon, “Can we discuss this now?”He then added, “Do you have a set time for leaving Jeju? I heard you are planning to relocate back to Seoul.”

Lee Sang-soon confirmed, “We are planning to return to Seoul later this year, sometime after fall.”

Kim Bum-soo inquired if the decision was official and Lee Sang-soon chuckled in response, revealing, “I’ve casually mentioned it to a few people.”Kim Bum-soo then chimed in with a grin, “It seems like everyone already knows. They’re all saying, ‘Sang-soon is headed back to Seoul!’”

Lee Sang-soon elaborated that they have already located a house in Seoul and are currently in the process of designing and decorating the interior.

Kim Bum-soo inquired, “What was the reason behind your sudden decision to return to Seoul after living in Jeju for 11 years?”

Lee Sang-soon responded, “Hyori and I both agreed that it was necessary to go back to our roots and prioritize our main work. Our goal was to live our lives with greater sincerity.”

Typically, individuals tend to prefer living in the city during their younger years and then relocate to the countryside or rural areas as they grow older. Is this not the reverse of the usual pattern?

Lee Sang-soon concurred, stating, “Although living and working in Jeju is wonderful, it can also be quite demanding. There is always something to be done. Many people have aspirations of living in a rural area, however…”Kim Bum-soo interjected, “But there is never a moment of tranquility, is there?”

Lee Sang-soon added, “Maintaining the outside of the house requires a lot of effort. I am constantly mowing the lawn. At one point, we had a total of six or seven dogs and cats. Even now, we still have five pets. Despite the challenges of caring for them and living a rural lifestyle while we are still young, I believe it was a valuable experience for us.”

He stated, “As we relocate to Seoul, our intention is to fully embrace all that the city has to offer, such as frequently ordering delivery. We are also eagerly anticipating reconnecting with friends like Bum-soo, Seok-yi, and other musicians. The idea of collaborating on projects together fills me with excitement.”

Kim Bum-soo quipped, “If we ever get together, we could spend the entire day playing.”

Following their marriage in 2013, Lee Sang-soon and Lee Hyori relocated to Jeju where they continued their broadcasting endeavors. Lee Hyori became known as “Sogil-dae”and gained recognition for her role in the popular show “Hyori’s Homestay,”which followed their life in Jeju.
