The 60th edition of the Baeksang Arts Awards took place at COEX D Hall in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu district on May 7 (KST) at 5 p.m. The ceremony was once again emceed by Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum.
The recipient of the New Actor in TV Drama Award was Yuna, a promising young actress who portrayed a lead role in ENA’s “The Kidnapping Day.”In a quivering voice, Yuna expressed her joy and gratitude at receiving the rookie award, saying, “I am truly honored to be in the presence of such talented seniors. Thank you for this recognition.”She also shared that the director of “The Kidnapping Day”had expressed his wish for her to attend the awards ceremony and sit among esteemed colleagues in a beautiful dress, which she was finally able to fulfill with this award.
The Best Actor Award in the same category was given to Lee Jung-ha for his role in “Moving.” Lee expressed his gratitude for the nomination and his excitement, nerves, and gratitude upon receiving the award. Despite his initial fears, Lee successfully overcame his anxieties and performed well while shooting the film. He especially struggled with scenes that required him to fly using wires, as he had a fear of heights. However, with the encouragement and support of the director, Lee was able to conquer his fears and deliver a commendable performance.
Lee Jung-ha expressed gratitude to fellow actors and actresses, including Jo In-sung, Han Hyo-joo, and Ko Yoon-jung. She also took the opportunity to dedicate this award to a special person. She shared the story of a newlywed couple, where the husband passed away in a tragic accident, leaving his pregnant wife behind. Lee Jung-ha expressed her hope and support for the wife to overcome this difficult situation.
