As reported by Business Insider on May 14th (local time), Lee Jung-jae recently revealed that the highly-anticipated “Squid Game 2″will make its debut in December at the Disney Upfront event.
The Netflix series “Squid Game”follows individuals taking part in a puzzling survival game where they face life-threatening obstacles in pursuit of the grand prize of 45.6 billion won.
The first season of “Squid Game” was released in 2021 and created a global frenzy, leading to a K-content phenomenon. The highly anticipated Season 2, returning after a three-year hiatus, is expected to once again achieve success with a fresh cast, including renowned actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-joon. Joining the existing cast are new faces such as Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, and former BIGBANG member T.O.P.
Netflix has not yet revealed the specific release date for “Squid Game 2,”but they have hinted that it will be within this year.
In the interim, Lee Jung-jae, the lead actor, created buzz when he personally confirmed the release of “Squid Game 2″in December. Making an appearance on the red carpet at Disney Upfront to promote “The Acolyte,”Lee Jung-jae shared the exciting news about the highly anticipated sequel, capturing the interest of audiences worldwide.
In April, the CEO of Netflix, Ted Sarandos, announced that the second season of “Squid Game”would be premiering in the second half of this year.
