New photos of Lee Min-ho in the highly anticipated K-drama “Pachinko 2″ have recently surfaced. In these two images, the actor exudes a stunning and debonair presence, a noticeable departure from his previous appearance that left fans disappointed last year.
Lee Min-ho takes on the character of Koh Hansu in the acclaimed series “Pachinko.”Initially portrayed as a struggling young man trying to make ends meet in Japan, Hansu eventually transforms into a shrewd and unfeeling businessman, achieving great success in his endeavors.
Koh Hansu, the character who disrupts the life of the female lead Sunja (Kim Min-ha), is known for sharing brief and passionate moments with her before being separated. As he is already married with three children, their relationship faces numerous obstacles. However, in “Pachinko 2,”the audience can expect a deeper exploration of Koh Hansu’s inner world as he strives to reunite with Sunja in Osaka in 1945.
Despite being a well-known actor, Lee Min-ho put in a lot of effort to play the role of Koh Hansu. In fact, he personally participated in the casting process, something he hadn’t done in the past 13 years, in order to secure the role.
Following the conclusion of the first season of the film, Lee Min-ho’s character, Koh Hansu, was met with mixed reactions. Some viewers saw him as a deceitful and irresponsible man who took advantage of Sunja. However, the recently released “Pachinko 2″trailer hints at a possible shift in the audience’s perception of this character. It appears that Koh Hansu has continuously kept an eye on Sunja and her child, even after she chose to marry someone else. Additionally, he assists her in navigating through a tumultuous era, showcasing a different side of his character.
The highly anticipated second season of “Pachinko,”starring Lee Min-ho, will premiere on August 22 and air every Friday thereafter.
