Shin Hyun-joon, awarded Best Actor for his role in a long-form drama, took a moment to honor the late actress Kim Soo-mi, who had passed away in October 2023. Lee Soon-jae, at the distinguished age of 89, also received acclaim as Best Actor. His emotional journey, relating to his long-standing role as a mentor at Gachon University, resonated with many. A notable highlight of the evening was Kim Jung-hyun’s public apology, marking the conclusion of a turbulent seven-year silence following his controversial exit from the 2018 drama “Time.” His behavior during that production had sparked considerable debate within the industry, particularly regarding his interactions with co-star Seohyun and the surrounding scandal involving actress Seo Ye-ji.

Despite the overall somber tone, the ceremony had its lighter moments. Actor Kim Myung-soo unintentionally brought laughter as the camera caught his dazed expression while presenter Lee Young-ae awarded the Popularity Award.
