Lee Sung-kyung Pursued Dream of Becoming a Musical Actor for 16 Years Despite Concerns About Her Height

On September 16th, Lee Sung-kyung made a guest appearance alongside MeloMance in a video on Seong Si-kyung’s YouTube channel, I’ll Listen.

Lee Sung-kyung, who is set to make her musical debut in the upcoming production of “Aladdin” this November, shared, “I’ve dreamed of being a musical actor for 16 years. When I worked as a model before my acting career, I believed my height would limit my opportunities in this field.”

With her impressive vocal and piano talents, Lee Sung-kyung added, “In my younger years, I was keen on pursuing classical music. Occasionally, when actor friends come over, I accompany them on the piano. Since it’s rare for actors to sing, they are always thrilled when I play along. It’s such a rewarding experience.”

She elaborated, “Regardless of one’s singing ability, experiencing how the accompaniment aligns with their breath is a unique journey. So, when my actor friends visit, I enjoy providing the accompaniment for them.”

Identifying herself as a musical “enthusiast,” Lee Sung-kyung expressed, “Typically, when people are asked about their favorite musical, they mention their top pick. Mine is Bonnie and Clyde—I’m particularly captivated by one specific song.” She showcased her beautiful voice by performing ‘How ’bout a Dance?’ alongside MeloMance.

Following her performance, which was met with applause, Lee admitted, “I was so nervous at the end.”

Seong Si-kyung, who performed “Come What May” with Lee, added humorously, “It felt like we were at karaoke, singing whatever we liked. Great job!” and smiled.
