On August 6, OA, the agency of Jennie, released their official statement addressing the recent news that the author of a newly published novel is Jennie’s father.
The agency stated that the information was false and an effort to impersonate the father of the BLACKPINK member.
The complete statement from Jennie’s perspective is provided below:
“Hello,
This is OA Entertainment.
We would like to express our gratitude to the fans who cherish and love our artist, Jennie.
Recently, illegal publications and fake news containing false claims impersonating the artist’s father have been continuously circulated. We want to clearly state that these are blatant falsehoods and are completely unrelated to the artist. Please be cautious of purchasing illegal publications and take care to avoid any harm related to this matter. We are currently taking legal action, including filing criminal complaints for defamation and obstruction of business through a law firm against the individuals responsible for spreading such false information.
Additionally, we are taking legal measures against those responsible for defamation, sexual harassment, malicious slander, and other harmful posts targeting our artist. These actions constitute clear crimes, and we will continue to take strong legal action without leniency based on the evidence we have gathered.
We promise to continue doing our utmost to protect the rights of our artist.
Thank you.”
