On October 18th, Rosé unveiled the song APT., a remarkable collaboration with the internationally acclaimed artist Bruno Mars. Inspired by the popular Korean game “Apt Game,” this track features captivating lyrics and a memorable melody. Both artists captured audience attention by sharing snippets of their gaming experience together, reinforcing the novelty of their creative partnership.
Upon its release, APT. quickly ascended to the top of major music charts in South Korea, and it is anticipated to make waves on the Billboard Hot 100 as well. Prior to this, Rosé made history as the first Korean female solo artist to achieve No. 1 on both the U.S. Spotify Chart and the Global Spotify Daily Top Song Chart.
The song has also dominated Korean music shows, prompting Bruno Mars to express his gratitude on his social media in Korean. He stated, “Thank you so much to Korean fans. On October 14th, K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN joined forces with the illustrious producer DJ Khaled for their title track Love, Money, Fame, featured on their 12th mini-album, Spill the Feels.
DJ Khaled, renowned for his collaborations with stars like Justin Bieber and Drake, has solidified his relationship with SEVENTEEN, even inviting members Woozi, Mingyu, and Vernon to his concert. The track Love, Money, Fame showcases a refreshing departure from SEVENTEEN’s signature powerful style, proving to be a hit among fans around the world.
This mini-album achieved remarkable success, selling over 3.16 million copies in its first week, setting a record for the highest initial sales of any K-pop album this year. The album not only secured a spot at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 but also marked SEVENTEEN’s sixth consecutive album to enter the Top 10. Additionally, it topped Japan’s Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and the Weekly Combined Album Ranking.
Stray Kids and Charlie Puth: A Dynamic Fusion
In a notable collaboration earlier this year, Stray Kids partnered with Charlie Puth to release the English digital single Lose My Breath on May 10. This track was co-produced by Stray Kids’ own 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, Han) alongside Puth, capturing the exhilarating yet daunting feeling of meeting someone new.
Lose My Breath made a significant impact, ranking 90th on the Billboard Hot 100 and marking Stray Kids’ second entry into the chart, following their track S-Class. The song also made its mark on the UK Official Singles Top 100, debuting at the 97th position.
