Ready to catch some small fish? Follow these tips to become a true fishing pro:
Make a fishing rod
You will be able to ask villagers to fish for you after LEGO Fortnite update 28.30.
To fish, you need good equipment, so let’s talk fishing rod! There are four levels of rarity. The higher this level, the more likely you are to reel in your catch, but lower rarity levels are easier to craft. Here’s how to get the schematic for each rarity level:

- To unlock the typical fishing rod blueprint, obtain a rope and place it in your inventory.

You will be able to transform them into trophies in a future update.
Prepare delicious meals using the fish preparer

(To unlock the Fish Preparer Blueprint, build or use a Sawmill.)Don’t like fish fillets? No worries! With a grill, you can also prepare smoked fry or blue-black shieldfish sushi, for example!
Create a fishing spot with a bait bucket
To fish, all you need is a fishing rod and a water source. However, just because you cast your line in the water doesn’t mean you’ll see fish. They are very shy… And very greedy! Throw bait in the water to attract them and create a fishing spot!
To get bait, you need a bait bucket. This is available in four rarity levels. The higher this level, the more likely you are to attract fish. The four levels are:
Typical Bait Bucket (can be crafted with a Fish Preparer)
- To unlock the typical bait bucket blueprint, you must place a fish fillet in your inventory and your world must have a fish preparer.

Adding sand and glass
Version 28.30 introduces two new assets to LEGO® Fortnite! You can collect sand by digging into sandy areas with a shovel.
Some people don’t like sand, because it’s always everywhere… Even in glass… Make glass with sand and a workbench!
Zooming with the spotting scope
You can now see far away very easily! The telescope is a telescopic tool that allows you to observe distant elements. To unlock the Spyglass Blueprint, you must place Glass in your inventory and your world must have a Workbench. Then, all you have to do is make a spyglass with the workbench!
Follow the compass
Very often, you had to consult your map to find the direction you were following. Now you can use a super compass to orient yourself! Compass adds a simple navigation system to the interface, which shows which direction you are heading. To unlock the compass blueprint, you must place glass in your inventory and your world must have a workbench. Then, all you have to do is make one… at the workbench. Want to add a navigation system AND map markers to your interface? Then the sophisticated compass is made for you! You can unlock its pattern in the same way as the normal compass.
New villagers
Marin isn’t the only potential new villager joining LEGO Fortnite. Two other fishermen also enter: Trawlière and Martin!
New amulets
New amulets are now available to help you during your adventures! The Reflecting Amulet reflects part of the damage you take back to your attacker. The wave breaker amulet allows you to swim faster. The more wavebreaker amulets you wear, the faster your speed increases! Different sea creatures are needed to craft these two amulets, so grab your fishing rods!
