Following a period of eager anticipation, Lisa’s (BLACKPINK) highly-anticipated MV “ROCKSTAR”was officially released at 9 AM on June 28th (KST) and has since taken the world by storm. Lisa has once again proved her worth to her fans, as her meticulously crafted MV is a treat for both the eyes and ears. Notably, the entire production is a visual feast, showcasing the stunning skills of the 1997-born female idol.

The music video for “ROCKSTAR”was filmed in Lisa’s hometown of Thailand. It features various locations such as Chinatown, The Oscar cinema, Petchburi Soi 39 street, and the abandoned New World shopping center. Chinatown is known to be a bustling area in Bangkok, with constant activity day and night. In order to capture the desired desolate and dark atmosphere, Lisa paid 20,000 baht (580 USD) for each shop to close early. The filming took place over three consecutive nights, from 2-5 AM.

In addition, Lisa made the decision to hire around 100 Thai dancers for her solo MV, paying them a daily rate of 84 USD. The production team also generously compensated groups of actors on motorcycles, skateboarders, LGBT/Drag queens, and extras with pay ranging from 84-252 USD/day. This showcases the immense investment put into the “ROCKSTAR”MV, with production costs potentially reaching billions of VND. This bold investment move by Lisa, known for her wealth, has left netizens in awe.
