What are Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Go?
Mega Evolutions represent a temporary transformation that certain Pokemon can undergo, significantly enhancing their combat capabilities while retaining their HP. Some Pokemon even change types upon Mega Evolving.
This transformation lasts for 8 hours, during which players can utilize Mega Evolutions in Raids, Gyms, and against other trainers. However, Mega Evolved Pokemon cannot defend Gyms, participate in the Battle League, or be traded or powered up.
To trigger a Mega Evolution, players must collect a designated amount of Mega Energy from Mega Raids or Special Research Tasks. The initial Mega Evolution will require a higher amount of Mega Energy, but subsequent uses will cost less.
