Bloomburrow is giving a fresh look to some of MTG’s well-known cards, including mechanical frogs and deadly rat assassins.
With its Bloomburrow set, Magic: The Gathering delivers a plethora of exceptional new card designs and captivating fantasy elements. In addition to these fresh designs, Special Guests also make an appearance in this set, reimagining the old cards to fit seamlessly into Bloomburrow’s non-human realm.
Following the announcement that Wizards will no longer be using regular reprints for The List, Special Guests have become the primary means of launching reprints alongside Bloomburrow.
Due to the high demand, many MTG players will be searching for these reprints, and we have compiled a list of all the special guests at Bloomburrow.
All MTG Bloomburrow Special Guest Cards
Swords to Plowshares
The classic white-mana exile card has been reproduced in various sets, including main sets and Universes Beyond Commander decks. However, this newest version exemplifies exactly why this card continues to be adored.
Swords to Plowshares will continue to be a highly sought after card for both novice players and veteran MTG enthusiasts due to its versatile design, easily transferable between different decks, and its impressively affordable exile effect. Whether just starting out with Bloomburrow or a lifelong fan of the game, this card will be a valuable addition to any collection.
Ledger Shredder
Ledger Shredder, making its comeback since its introduction in Streets of New Capenna, remains a cost-effective Blue Creature that efficiently sifts through your hand using Connive to provide improved options.
Ledger Shredder is a valuable early-game investment thanks to its ability to self-buff and fly. It can continuously deal increasing amounts of difficult-to-block damage to opponents.
Rat Colony and Relentless Rats
Thanks to multiple new high-power Commanders, Bloomburrow has brought new life to Rat decks.
In combination with these Commanders, Rat Colony and Relentless Rats serve as crucial elements of the deck. By having an abundance of these cards, players can overwhelm their opponents’ defenses with a swarm of surprisingly powerful rodents.
Kindred Charge
This red Sorcery is designed to enhance the effectiveness of typal decks.
In cases where you heavily rely on a single Creature type, Kindred Charge can double your power for one turn and potentially lead to a game-winning attack with the right timing.
Sylvan Tutor
The one-mana Tutor spells continue to dominate as the most superior deck-searching choices in Magic, giving you the ability to precisely add the card you require to your hand at the perfect moment.
Similar to how Mystical Tutor can search for Instants and Sorceries and Enlightened Tutor can find Enchantments and Artifacts, Sylvan Tutor is able to fetch any Creature you desire for a mere one mana cost. This makes it an essential card for most decks that incorporate green.
Toski, Bearer of Secrets
A beloved Kaldheim staple makes its comeback in Bloomburrow, where Squirrels are plentiful. Toski greatly enhances the archetype’s drawing abilities, especially when paired with a Commander like Chatterfang that can generate a large number of Squirrels. As a result, you may find yourself with an overwhelming number of cards to manage.
Frogmite
This Artifact Frog ranks among Bloomburrow’s top croaking companions.
With its Affinity ability and lack of specific color requirements, this card can be easily cast without expending any mana. Although it may not be a popular choice among Bloomburrow’s Simic Frog decks, Frogmite remains a valuable addition to Artifact-focused play styles.
Sword of Fire and Ice
The much-needed reprints for MTG’s Mirran Sword cycle continue with the recent release of Universe Beyond: Assassin’s Creed.
Similar to other Mirran Swords, Sword of Fire and Ice remained in high demand due to its ability to provide protection, inflict burn damage, and allow for card draw. Among Bloomburrow’s reprints, this one will surely bring joy to MTG collectors when opening a pack, with Sylvan Tutor also holding significant value.
Secluded Courtyard
This land is extremely beneficial for Typal decks as it provides specifically tailored mana.
With the reprint of Urza’s Incubator in Modern Horizons 3, decks centered around a specific Creature type are receiving dependable support, which pairs well with Bloomburrow’s diverse Creature factions.
The Special Guests featured in MTG’s Bloomburrow are just one aspect of the set. In addition to reprints, the set has plenty to offer both new and seasoned MTG players. This includes powerful and destructive Calamity Beasts, surprisingly effective Commanders, and charming spellslinging Otters.
