Livvy Dunne surprises campus by serving Raising Cane’s after NCAA win

LSU Gymnastics team member Olivia Dunne and her fellow teammates pleasantly surprised residents of Baton Rouge by volunteering at a Raising Cane’s location near campus.

On April 23, the 21-year-old gymnast attracted a large audience and was spotted operating the cash register. Her teammates Kiya Johnson, Haleigh Bryant, Savannah Schoenherr and Aleah Finnegan were all present to support her.

“Cane’s holds a special place in my heart as I have made countless memories here with my teammates after a night of fun. Yesterday, after returning from our championship victory, we celebrated by indulging in a delicious meal at Cane’s. The taste was even more satisfying after our win, and it made me realize that I have always dreamed of working a ‘shift’ at Cane’s. To my surprise, that dream has now become a reality.”Dunne commented.

“I expressed to Paul my desire to work at the Drive-Thru and I can vividly recall the moment when he did the same after LSU baseball’s victory in the championship. And now, I am here, surrounded by all of our fans. It feels surreal!”

After the video was shared on Instagram, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the LSU / Raising Cane’s collaboration. One person commented, “I wish I lived within an hour’s drive. I would definitely go see it,”while another expressed their excitement, saying, “This is so awesome.”

Another person added, “It’s truly a magnificent sight to behold! The LSU Tigers gymnastics champions have dedicated themselves to their craft and seeing their hard work finally come to fruition is truly remarkable.”

According to estimates, Olivia Dunne earns approximately $3.5 million every year, making her the highest-paid female athlete in the NCAA.

On Saturday, April 20, the Tigers made history by winning their first ever NCAA title. Among the LSU national champions was Dunne, who joined her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Livvy Dunne was also in the spotlight in March when she claimed that TikTok was censoring her through the use of shadow bans.

‘Shadow bans’ are when platforms limit the visibility of an account without directly deleting it. She inquired about the situation online and her followers confirmed that they could no longer see her posts on their timelines.

Despite the lack of explanation for Dunne’s low views, she remains convinced that the platform is punishing her.
