Logan Paul has boldly issued a challenge to renowned football icon Lionel Messi, proposing a boxing match to resolve the ongoing conflict between his drink brand Prime Hydration and Messi’s newly launched Mas+.This rivalry has captivated sports and beverage fans alike, and Paul’s call to action aims to settle their disputes within the ring.
Since its debut in early 2022, Prime Hydration, co-founded by Logan Paul and KSI, has quickly established itself as a prominent sports drink. Gaining endorsements from major sports entities such as the UFC, the Los Angeles Lakers, and even the Dodgers, Prime has expanded its flavor offerings consistently throughout the year, achieving celebrity status in the hydration market.
However, competition arrived swiftly when Messi introduced his own hydration product, Mas+, in June 2024. Upon its release, some fans were quick to point out the striking similarities between Mas+ and Prime’s branding, leading to accusations of imitation and a subsequent legal confrontation between the two companies.

The legal tensions escalated when, in October 2024, Messi’s brand filed a lawsuit against Prime Hydration, alleging “anti-competitive”practices, claiming that Paul’s company attempted to pressure them into modifying their packaging. The situation intensified further in November when Prime countersued, asserting that Mas+ infringes upon their trademark due to the almost identical label design and bottle aesthetics.
Logan Paul Aims to Conclude Dispute with a Boxing Match Against Messi
On February 12, 2025, Paul escalated the situation by issuing a direct challenge to Messi in a lighthearted TikTok video where he humorously remarked, “Brother, you copied us!” He elaborated on the perception of betrayal and the ensuing legal battle, expressing his desire to potentially retract the lawsuit in favor of an exciting boxing showdown.“If you can’t beat the best, you gotta be the best… But that’s illegal. That’s trademark infringement. We’re holding him accountable, and it’s harassment?”

As of now, Messi has not publicly responded to Paul’s challenge. However, he would not be the first high-profile athlete to step into the ring with one of the Paul brothers. Notably, Jake Paul faced off against boxing legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in November 2024, while Logan Paul previously squared off against Floyd Mayweather in 2021. With such a prestigious roster of celebrity matchups, a face-off with a global sports superstar like Messi could be the next significant bout for Paul.
The outcome of this challenge—whether it leads to a boxing match or a continuation of legal battles—remains uncertain as both brands clash in the legal arena. The world waits with bated breath to see if Messi will accept the challenge and step onto the canvas for this high-stakes showdown.
