Logan Paul hits back at viral Prime Hydration “forever chemical” lawsuit

Following the viral spread of the Prime Hydration “forever chemical”lawsuit on social media, Logan Paul has issued a response.

A legal action was initiated in 2023, claiming that Prime Hydration’s grape flavor contained excessive amounts of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly referred to as “forever chemicals.”

The company faced a significant backlash on social media in April 2024 after an update was released on April 18 regarding the case, leading to the claims gaining viral attention.

He began the video by stating, “It’s important to understand that anyone can file a lawsuit against anyone at any given time. However, this does not automatically make the claims in the lawsuit true. And in the case we are discussing, that is not the case.”

Logan then proceeded to discuss how the lawsuit specifically involves the bottle containing “forever chemicals,”and disclosed that they source their bottles from the same manufacturer as major brands such as Pepsi and Coca Cola.

“As a result, we adhere to Title 21 for the regulations governing PET and all other types of bottles. However, if the discussion pertains to the beverage itself, their argument becomes invalid.”

He went on to say, “The lawyer’s small-scale research is complete nonsense. They’re asserting that Prime contains 0.06 parts per trillion, but according to the EPA, anything below 1.1 is considered undetectable.”

“According to Logan, this indicates that they lack the necessary tools and resources to substantiate their claims. It also signifies that the detection limit is actually 66 times higher than what they are asserting we have.”

During his explanation, he clarified that he, along with his business partner KSI and Congo Brands, do not believe that the numbers mentioned in the lawsuit are accurate. They are not the only ones who share this belief. Logan also included a clip from TikToker Food Science Babe, who echoed his initial statement in the video.

Prime also apparently keeps a sample of each batch from the production line, and they are prepared to test it to demonstrate the safety of their drink.

Despite facing a lawsuit, Prime continues to have millions of consumers, as it has even surpassed Gatorade as the top-selling sports drink at Walmart.
