Logan Paul’s Controversial World Record PSA 10 Pikachu Card Raises Doubts Among Pokemon TCG Community

The Pokemon TCG community is raising concerns about the authenticity of Logan Paul’s well-known Pikachu Illustrator card, which he purchased for $5 million and has been graded a PSA 10.

In 2022, Paul acquired the PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator card, which holds the record for being the most expensive Pokemon card in the world. This particular card, of which only 40 were ever produced, has been graded with the highest possible score for its quality. Despite the limited number of existing cards, Paul’s ownership of

Despite Paul’s claim that it is the rarest card in the world, there has been some doubt among Pokemon TCG fans regarding the validity of the PSA grading. They are suggesting that it should be graded as a PSA 9 or lower, which would discredit his claim.

The topic was raised on Reddit in a post titled “Jake Paul’s $ WORLD RECORD POKEMON CARD is NOT a PSA 10.”The author of the post points out that the card has “flaws that are too apparent to be deemed a PERFECT 10″and also mentions that it had previously been graded as a PSA 9.

The writer of the post further asserted that the card had reportedly been graded as a PSA 10, but then highlighted its imperfections such as a chip in the corner, imperfect margins, and a slight tilt. They also provided close-up images of the card as evidence.

According to the original report on the purchase by Pokebeach, it was stated that the “card has changed hands multiple times over the years and had previously been graded as a PSA 9 due to a minor chip in the corner. However, it was later regraded and eventually received a perfect 10 rating.”

Upon discussing the grading, a comment was made questioning, “Does he have knowledge about this? Unless he is unaware and did not seek professional help for a thorough assessment.”However, other comments confirm that Paul is aware and suggest that he may not be concerned because it received a 10 grade.

The YouTuber flew to Dubai to obtain the Pokemon card for over $5 million.

In addition, while Paul received criticism, some comments specifically targeted the PSA grading system. One commenter even remarked, “Shouldn’t PSA, as the supposed professional, be responsible for examining the item? This seems to reflect poorly on PSA, not Paul.”

Some argue that PSA regraded the card to a 10 as a strategic move for free publicity. They suggest that the company purposely gave him the regraded 10 in exchange for his public display of the card.
