Logan Paul and Ryan Garcia have been at odds for some time, but the recent filing of a lawsuit by Prime Hydration against Garcia has escalated their conflict to another level.
On May 23, 2024, Prime Hydration, a sports drink company co-owned by Paul, announced that they are filing a lawsuit against Garcia for making false claims about the drink and Paul.
The lawsuit alleges that Garcia and Prime were once on good terms, but Garcia has since publicly criticized the brand, damaging their previously friendly relationship.
Prime’s argument highlights Garcia’s volatile behavior, alleging that the native of Victorville has a track record of targeting prominent figures and companies in order to incite controversy.
I’ve had to spend the last couple months dismantling ridiculous claims about @PrimeHydrate, and it’s become obvious…PRIME is under attack. Why? 1.) We’re a threat. PRIME is the most disruptive beverage in history and our competitors feel the pressure. It’s likely that we’ve… pic.twitter.com/3LxENMr2O1

In previous instances, Garcia has expressed negative opinions about the beverage, advising his one million followers on X not to drink it due to various perceived health hazards.
After triumphing over Devin Haney in the boxing ring on April 20, Garcia wasted no time in criticizing Prime once again, this time attributing Haney’s loss to his decision to sign with the company.

“Despite not drinking Prime, Garcia still showed respect to Haney for getting up every time during their fight. Garcia shared his thoughts on X, stating his admiration for Haney’s resilience only hours after securing the unexpected win. However, Paul ultimately had the final victory.”
Following the surprising victory, the boxing commission revealed that Garcia had tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug the day before and the day of his bout with Haney.
The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association verified the presence of a banned substance, Ostarine, in both the A-sample and B-sample, leading to a positive drug test result.
The legal action against Garcia was initiated shortly after Paul issued a warning to file a lawsuit against Doctor Daniel Pompa for disseminating false information about the Prime Hydration drink, referencing a previous lawsuit against the company in 2023.
In retaliation, Paul uploaded several videos where he alleged that Prime was contemplating legal action against Pompa for the significant financial harm caused by his video criticizing the drink.
The threat has now materialized, but Pompa remains unaffected. On the other hand, Garcia, who is already dealing with a long suspension from boxing, now has another potential issue to contend with.
In spite of this, the 25-1 boxer is still taunting Paul on social media.
Despite the lawsuit being made public, Paul continued to inform his fans that Garcia had been fabricating “fake”text messages under his name in an effort to tarnish the YouTuber’s reputation.
On Instagram, he shared a screenshot of the messages in which Garcia, pretending to be Paul, crudely joked about the death of children.
The WWE champion, who is also a popular social media personality, responded by saying that the alleged conversation is fake as he does not even have Garcia’s phone number.

“Paul made it clear that we are taking legal action against you for defamation, stating on his Instagram story that you are incredibly foolish.”
Afterward, he streamed on the platform and referred to Garcia as a “pathetic weasel”for creating false messages in response to the Prime lawsuit.
