LoL Devs Reveal Incoming Fix for Client’s Most Annoying Feature

The developers of League of Legends have announced that they are working on a solution for the game’s most frustrating aspect: the excessive number of notifications and popups in the client.

As you prepare to start playing League, you log into the client and are met with numerous messages about ranked changes, battle pass bonuses, challenges, mission rewards, and other updates.

Eventually, you complete the process of dismissing the notifications and pips, join a game, and think that’s the end of it. However, as soon as you reach the post-match screen, you realize that you have to go through the same ordeal once more. This time, there’s a new TFT notification, an update on a challenge, and the same battle pass pip.

The constant clicking through the client is a major issue for every League of Legends player, as it can be even more tiresome than playing ranked games. Fortunately, the developers have hinted that an upcoming update will address this problem and alleviate the strain for players.

Developer Jordan Checkman shared a progress report on the team’s plans for the client, aiming to decrease the number of notifications and pips overall. The developers have reached a consensus on which notifications are necessary for players, resulting in a decrease in the total amount.

Checkman announced that the developers are planning to tidy up the guidelines and eliminate certain notifications. These include challenges repeatedly appearing on every milestone, skins showing up as both a notification and a pip in the collections tab, and unclear steps to remove notifications from the TFT tab.

The League of Legends community has consistently criticized the client as a major source of frustration, due to the numerous bugs and incessant notifications that would disrupt their attempts to join a game. This new solution hopes to address one of the primary concerns.
