According to the Love Island UK contestant, this near-death experience on a plane was deemed “unacceptable.”
Jack Fowler, the champion of Love Island Games Season 1 and a participant on Love Island UK Season 4, had a near-death experience due to a bad allergic reaction while traveling to Dubai.
Following the incident, he turned to Instagram to post photos depicting him administering an EpiPen injection and utilizing an oxygen mask.
Furthermore, he posted a photo of the menu from the Emirates flight that he had ordered from, resulting in his body experiencing an immediate shock.
Despite inquiring with the flight attendants about the presence of nuts in his chicken curry dish, he was reassured that it was safe for him to eat as it did not contain any nuts. He even emphasized his allergy to nuts twice, making it clear that he could not consume them.
Despite the claim that cashews were served in his meal, they caused his throat to close up. As a result, he implored the flight attendants to land the plane, warning them that if they didn’t, he would “perish on this flight.”
After administering his EpiPen, he received five tanks of oxygen while being accompanied by a flight attendant.
As Jack’s treatment started to have a positive effect on his body, his friend requested to see the menu. To their astonishment, the meal was described as “creamy chicken curry with cashew nuts.”
Despite initially trusting the flight attendants’ assurance that there were no nuts on board, he expressed his disappointment with the incident and hopes that his post will serve as a reminder for those in the airline industry to properly accommodate passengers with food allergies.
After the aircraft touched down in Dubai, Jack was immediately taken to the hospital situated within the airport. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the level of care he received.
Jack’s followers wasted no time in criticizing the airline on his social media post, stating that serving nuts on a flight should never be allowed due to the numerous potential concerns.
Many others also supported the individual’s decision to share their story in order to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. One person even suggested that the flight attendant who informed them that their meal did not contain nuts should face consequences and potentially lose their job.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, viewers remain hopeful that Jack’s message regarding his allergic reaction will continue to serve as a means of preventing future accidents.
