After causing the end of a major Season 6 couple, this revelation is facing backlash on social media, and fans are not happy about it.
It is safe to say that bombshells are not typically well-received by the other islanders.
Since they join the villa once couples have already formed, the only means for them to remain in the competition is by causing the breakup of these relationships.
Upon entering the Season 6 villa, Andrea Carmona proved herself to be a formidable contender when she successfully diverted Rob Rausch’s attention away from Leah Kateb. However, her actions elicited a mixed reaction from viewers.
Despite her goal of finding love, Andrea did not receive any harsh criticism from most people as they did not hold any grudges against her. They acknowledged that she was not the one who betrayed Leah. However, some viewers who perceived her actions as malicious have resorted to leaving negative remarks on her recent Instagram posts.
As an example, the post she shared on June 17 has been flooded with negative comments such as “homewrecker”and “trash”.
On June 22, supporters immediately turned to Reddit in order to show their backing for Andrea and denounce the act of cyberbullying towards the celebrity.
“A fan expressed their opinion, stating that this is an entertainment show and much of it is produced. They advised against leaving hateful comments on anyone’s social media accounts.”
Another commenter joined in and expressed, “I believe it’s only getting worse. Hopefully, Andrea’s family will take control of the account and put an end to this madness.”
“As a third Redditor pointed out, it might be beneficial for the cast to disable or limit comments for the sake of their mental health.”
This is not the initial instance of cyberbullying involving the LI franchise. Most recently, Georgia Steele decided to take a hiatus from social media due to receiving hateful comments regarding her appearance on Love Island: All Stars Season 1.
Although Andrea remains in the villa, we will not receive a public response from her regarding the online criticism unless she appears on Aftersun.
