In the final episode of “Lovely Runner” , Sun-jae (played by Byun Woo-seok) is discovered unconscious and is quickly taken to the hospital. Upon hearing the news, Sol (played by Kim Hye-yoon) rushes to the hospital. Meanwhile, Sun-jae regains consciousness and immediately heads to find Sol. As they reunite, Sun-jae embraces Sol and confesses that he has regained all his memories.
Despite being reunited, Sol and Sun-jae are still being threatened by the murderer, Kim, who Tae-sung is chasing after. However, at the bridge, Kim jumps into the river and meets his instant demise, finally breaking the vicious cycle of danger for Sol and Sun-jae.
Once their problems were resolved, Sol and Sun-jae relished in their newfound happiness, continuing to secretly date and share affectionate kisses, as well as spending intimate nights together. Sun-jae even went as far as purchasing a ring and preparing to propose. He made the decision to attend Sol’s nephew’s first birthday celebration, which happened to be taking place at his own father’s restaurant. Unexpectedly, the birthday party also became an introduction for the two families. While Sun-jae’s father was initially displeased with his son’s choice, he eventually couldn’t help but feel overjoyed seeing his son so happy.
In addition to being a family get-together, Sun-jae pleasantly surprised everyone by arranging for his group, Eclipse, to perform. Following the festivities, Sun-jae sought the blessings of the elders and then took Sol on a yacht with the intention of proposing to her in a romantic manner. However, Sol shared her aspirations of making a film and pursuing her dream, causing Sun-jae to realize that it was not the appropriate moment. He held her close, covering her eyes to conceal all the preparations he had made.
As the film comes to a close, Sol’s first movie is a success and Sun-jae finally proposes. Sol happily accepts and the two share a romantic kiss, imagining their future together as they walk down the aisle.
Even though the wedding scene was only shown briefly in their imagination, it still caused a buzz on social media. Viewers were captivated by the chemistry between Sol and Sun-jae, and many pointed out that their wedding attire resembled that of famous actors Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin. This is not the first time tvN has successfully recreated the iconic wedding, as they had previously done so with the couple in their hit drama. In fact, the wedding was also featured in the popular K-drama “Queen of Tears,”which was set in the same location where Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin were born.
