Actor Song Geon-hee, who is currently playing a role in the drama, openly expressed his frustration towards the situation.
The cost of each ticket was set at 1,000 won.
The group viewing at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall will take place at four theaters, beginning at 7:50 PM. The event will include a stage greeting from the main cast, which includes Byeon Woo-seok, Kim Hye-yoon, Song Geon-hee, and Lee Seung-hyub, as a way to express gratitude to the fans. Following the stage greeting, the final episode will be screened at 8:50 PM, and all attendees will receive a special postcard set.
Despite the fan-centered event and the affordable ticket price generating a lot of interest, making reservations proved to be a challenge. The reservation site’s server crashed multiple times starting at 5 PM, rendering online reservations impossible. As a result, tickets were only available for purchase through kiosks across the country, which raised concerns about security. The limited tickets were quickly sold out, and outrage ensued as scalpers began selling them at exorbitant prices, ranging from 300 to 600 times the original cost.
Song Geon-hee, known for his role as Kim Tae-sung in the popular show “Lovely Runner”, recently shared his disappointment on the private messaging platform Bubble. He expressed his frustration about tickets being resold for an exorbitant price of 150,000 won, stating that this was unacceptable. He also expressed his anger over tickets that were originally priced at 1,000 KRW being resold at a higher price. Urging his fans not to purchase from scalpers, he reassured them that there will be a solution to this issue and advised them to refrain from buying these overpriced tickets.
During a Bubble live broadcast, he made a strong statement by clenching his fist and gesturing an X with his hands, urging fans to not support ticket scalpers.
Despite the event being organized for loyal viewers at a small fee of 1,000 won, Song Geon-hee stressed the importance of not buying resold tickets. He went on to express his dedication to finding more ways to interact with fans in person alongside Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon, displaying their consideration for those who were unable to attend.
The fans’ disappointment with the scalping issue has also caused distress for the actors involved. As stated in tvN’s initial announcement, each buyer was limited to purchasing a maximum of two tickets and non-members were not allowed entry due to the inability to verify their information. On-site identity checks will be enforced, and the name of the ticket buyer must match that of the attendee in order to gain admission.
Despite ongoing fan protests, recent user reviews have uncovered that a substantial amount of tickets were actually sold through kiosks.
