Ludwig Ahgren Returns to Twitch: A New Era of Streaming Begins
Ludwig Ahgren is set to make a significant return to Twitch as his exclusive contract with YouTube nears its conclusion. While his YouTube tenure has been influential, he has exciting plans for a 100-hour League of Legends event to mark the occasion. However, his relationship with YouTube is not entirely over just yet.
In November 2021, Ludwig made headlines by signing an exclusive deal with YouTube, moving away from Twitch, where he had built a dedicated following over three years. His time on YouTube has been notable; he has engaged audiences with various content, including exclusive interviews, like one with former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, and his podcast series, ‘The Yard’.
Despite his success on YouTube, Ludwig confirmed that he will transition back to Twitch starting December 2024, with his current YouTube contract concluding on November 30. This comeback will kick off with an ambitious event dubbed ‘League Week,’ where he plans to stream an impressive 100 hours of League of Legends—an opportunity not available under YouTube’s current livestream restrictions, which cap extended broadcasts at 12 hours.
Ludwig’s Future Streaming Strategy: A Dual Approach
During a recent broadcast, Ludwig candidly shared his uncertainty regarding the future of his streaming strategy. “I don’t know what the split will be,”he acknowledged. His intention is to maintain a presence on both platforms, stating, “I am absolutely going to be doing some streams on Twitch.” However, the exact distribution of his content is still under consideration.
As he prepares for his Twitch streaming resurgence, Ludwig expressed ambivalence about both platforms: “There’s a lot I like about YouTube streams, and there’s a lot I don’t like. The same goes for Twitch.”This nuanced perspective illustrates his intention to experiment with both platforms, ensuring that he finds what resonates best with his audience.
Ludwig also reflected on previous comments, where he identified as a “multistreaming hater.” He pointed out the trend where many YouTube livestreamers promptly return to Twitch or begin multistreaming upon concluding their contracts. This reflective stance highlights his commitment to maintaining a coherent community, preferring focused streaming on one platform rather than diluting his audience across several.
feels like every youtube livestreamer instantly swaps back over to twitch, or starts multistreaming, the moment their contract ends🤔

He has ruled out any potential collaboration with newer platforms such as Kick or Rumble, reinforcing his resolve to make a decisive decision between the two streaming giants. “It would be stupid not to try a stream on Twitch,”he admitted while clarifying that he will focus on one platform for the time being.
As Ludwig prepares for a new chapter in his streaming career, his strategic dual-platform approach could redefine his connection with his audience, leaving fans eager to see how this transition unfolds.
