Ludwig has criticized Kick, calling it a platform of “poison” that needs significant changes to improve its public perception.
In a video posted on YouTube, the content creator, well-known for his YouTube offerings, expressed vague criticisms regarding the streamers on the Twitch competitor, remarking, “I think there are a bunch of sh*t streamers on that platform whose entire goal is to create disruption.”
“There are many people involved. This isn’t an isolated issue,” he elaborated, adding, “Every platform deals with bad actors, but why does Kick seem to cultivate so many?”
“I believe there’s some poison in the well, that there’s something in their water. They need to address it if they want to be considered a legitimate platform,” he concluded.
These remarks came shortly after Ludwig mentioned he had witnessed an “insane” amount of clips showing “Kick streamers harassing individuals” at the 2024 TwitchCon. In his post from September 23, he stated, “I feel the primary obstacle preventing that platform from thriving are some of [the] people on it.”
Ludwig claimed to have seen numerous clips of Kick streamers harassing attendees at TwitchCon.
Ludwig isn’t the only content creator addressing the issues that arose at TwitchCon. On September 24, internet personality Ice Poseidon refuted allegations that he had paid Kick streamers to harass others at the convention.
During a meet and greet on the show floor, Nick ‘Nmplol’ Polom encountered a Kick streamer known as DBR666, who proceeded to kiss and lick Polom’s chest. “Holy f**k that was weird, don’t ever do sh*t like that please,” Polom later commented regarding the incident. DBR later stated on September 24 that they had been banned from Kick, vowing to “be better” if they return.
As of now, neither Kick nor Twitch has commented on the incidents that occurred at TwitchCon from September 20-22.
