Lyn Regrets Supporting Husband Lee Soo’s ‘Prostitution’ Case: “After Marriage, I Became a Target and Wanted to Defend Myself”

In a recent episode from the YouTube channel “by PDC,” titled Lyn: Breaking Free from Public Scrutiny!, renowned singer Lyn opened up about her evolving experiences since marriage.

Lyn candidly addressed the shift in her artistic expression after tying the knot, stating, “I wouldn’t say I experienced real pain during my career, but after getting married, things changed. I intentionally try not to sing very sad songs or love songs, particularly breakup ones. Instead of verbalizing everything, I believe in letting my music speak.” She reflected on her collaborative album with her husband, released in October, highlighting, “Having been married for a decade, we are thriving together. This album is a testament to our journey and the music we’ve created as partners.”

When probed about her fears surrounding public perception post-marriage, Lyn shared her concerns: “I anticipated challenges due to how my expressions might be misinterpreted. I quickly became an easy target for criticism. Every post I made on social media would be twisted in a negative manner, making self-expression intimidating.” Despite receiving advice to steer clear of social media, she firmly opposed, asserting, “Why should I compromise my presence for the comfort of others? I’m a reserved person who enjoys attention, and my fans deserve to connect with me. Quitting isn’t an option just to placate the masses.”

Furthermore, she delved into the emotional burden on her husband, Lee Soo, explaining, “He felt guilt and discomfort witnessing the backlash I received. That, in turn, made me feel guilty as well. I wanted to voice what I thought was right, but with hindsight, I realize that wasn’t beneficial for either of us. I’ve learned the importance of letting go and recognizing that time often heals wounds. Currently, I find a greater sense of peace.”

It’s noteworthy that Lyn and Lee Soo married in 2014, five years following a controversial episode in Lee’s past where he faced public scrutiny over serious allegations involving prostitution with a minor in 2009. In 2019, amid renewed interest in Lee’s history by a netizen, Lyn stood by him, asserting, “I’m not asking you to forget or forgive his past entirely. Yes, the prostitution incident occurred, but many of the claims surrounding it are untrue.” This defense incited a considerable online debate.
