MAD Lions and KOI Urge jojopyun to Join LEC Roster and Challenge Caps

MAD Lions and KOI Urge jojopyun to Join LEC Roster and Challenge Caps

In an uncommon show of openness during the already dynamic 2025 off-season for League of Legends, MAD Lions KOI has made a public appeal for jojopyun to become a member of their LEC roster.

Following their departure from Worlds 2024, which led to the dismissal of their mid laner Fresskowy, the team is now on the lookout for a new player to fill that crucial position.

The disappointment is still palpable among MAD Lions supporters after the team’s journey at the international level concluded with a defeat to GAM, a team from a minor region. The overall showing of the LEC at Worlds 2024 has been subpar, attracting criticism, especially towards MAD Lions from the European fanbase.

In an effort to enhance their roster for the off-season, MAD is focusing on bolstering their solo lanes. Both Myrwn and Fresskowy struggled significantly throughout the tournament. While there’s a possibility that MAD may retain their top laner and work on improving his unconventional playstyle, they are certainly in the market for a new mid laner.

This brings us to jojopyun, a sought-after player who reportedly recently had issues with Cloud9 and is not likely to return to that team next year. He is recognized as one of the top talents available for the mid-lane role, consistently delivering impressive performances irrespective of team outcomes.

Since 2022, Jojopyun has been recognized as North America’s leading mid laner.

In a surprising move, rather than discreetly expressing their interest in signing him, MAD Lions KOI has openly communicated their eagerness for jojopyun to join. According to Ibai, Elyoya has even attempted to persuade the mid laner and has already made him an offer.

Moreover, KOI content creator and former League pro Reven penned a heartfelt letter to Jojo, detailing why he should consider joining their organization:

“Imagine this scenario: you join MDK, and alongside our team, you clinch the LEC title and emerge as the new mid-lane legend of the West. Based on our co-streaming stats, which attract more than double the viewers compared to the official LCS broadcast, you’d undoubtedly become an absolute LEGEND,” Reven stated.

“And I assure you, legends are never short of financial success. If you possess the talent to dethrone Caps, in the near future, you’ll earn significantly more here at MDK than you would in NA.”

Given the performance of European teams during international tournaments throughout 2024, it’s no wonder they are actively scouting for talent from North America.

Reven ended his letter with an encouraging message:

“I understand that contemplating such a major life change can be intimidating — relocating continents and backing a community and organization that, until recently, was unfamiliar to you. However, the greatest rewards often lie beyond your fears. If you truly have what it takes, I guarantee you won’t regret making the move here. I don’t want to take up any more of your time; I hope this message assists you in making the right choice.”
