Upon its August 16 release, Madden 25 received mixed reviews lamenting bugs and performance issues

Since its launch on August 16, Madden 25 has received a relatively equal number of negative and positive reviews from players on Steam.

“Although the game looks amazing, it is currently a buggy nightmare. Even with an overclocked RX 6600 on low graphics, I am unable to maintain a consistent 60 FPS. However, I have high hopes that this game will improve in the next three months once it is properly finished,”according to a player’s review of the game’s performance.

Some also expressed their disappointment in the game’s severe problems, labeling it as “unplayable”because of the excessive lag they encountered.

After not owning Madden since 04/05, a player stated that their recent purchase should have been College Football 25 instead, in comparison to the recent comeback of the College Football series.

Despite several positive reviews highlighting the game’s strengths, there were still numerous complaints. One reviewer even mentioned that “this is still EA though,”suggesting that Madden 25 is simply a rehash with some minor improvements.

Although there are conflicting opinions among fans, Madden 25 has proven to be the highest-rated game of the franchise on Steam according to reviews.

With a positive review percentage of 55.40%, it surpasses its predecessors by a significant margin. In comparison, the previous version only holds a 45.27%, while the second-highest rated installment, Madden 23, has a rating of 51.35%.
