New Mafia Game: Setting and Plot Details

According to Kotaku, Hangar 13, the developers of the Mafia game franchise, have been working on a prequel since the initial rumors of a new project. The fourth installment, supposedly titled ‘Nero’ and set before the events of the first game, would take players back in time.

According to XboxEra host Nick Baker, the prequel is rumored to take place between the late 19th and early 20th century and will potentially center around the character of Don Salieri, a boss featured in the original game. This information was further supported by comments made by Baker.

Despite some discrepancies, it has been confirmed that Mafia: The Old Guard is indeed a prequel, taking place before any other installment in the Mafia series. The game is set in early 1900s Sicily and will revolve around the beginnings of organized crime.

According to Nick Baynes from Hangar 13, the unveiling of Mafia: The Old Country promises to bring fans back to the beloved roots of the franchise. The game will feature a captivating, linear storyline reminiscent of classic mob movies, set in a breathtaking new location. It will be presented in a compact, concentrated form that will satisfy fans of engrossing gameplay.

The appearance of characters and potential familiar faces remains uncertain, but there is a strong possibility that the Salieri family will make a return in this story.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated here with any additional information as we approach the game’s release date.
