On Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Magilumiere anime series announced that it would be available for global streaming on the Amazon Prime Video service just one day after its premiere in Japan. The series is set to start streaming on Prime Video at 12:30AM Japanese Standard Time (JST) on Sunday, October 6. It is also expected to be available on the platform internationally on Saturday, October 5, with a few exceptions.
This news is significant as it follows the announcement of the Magilumiere anime’s opening theme song information and Japanese release date and broadcast details, which occurred only two days prior. The show is set to debut on NTV’s “Friday Night Anime”block at 11PM JST on October 4, 2024, with the opening theme song “Order Made,”or “Made to Order,”performed by Mafumafu.
Magilumiere Anime Confirms Release Dates and Streaming Information for August Release
The announcement of the Magilumiere anime’s worldwide streaming debut was made by the @PrimeVideoAnime account, which is managed by Amazon Prime Video in Japan. It should be noted that, at the time of writing this article, there is no indication of the show’s exclusivity to the platform. The account also shared a visual graphic, featuring the main cast of the series, which was previously revealed in news earlier this week.
The main character of the show, Kana Saguraki, takes center stage, while other characters like Hitomi Koshigaya, Koji Shigemoto, Kazuo Nikoyama, Midorikawa, and others will make appearances in the background. Fairouz Ai, Yumiri Hanamori, Rikiya Koyama, Daiki Yamashita, and Ryota Ohsaka will respectively play the five characters mentioned above.
Studio Moe and J.C. Staff are collaborating on the animation of the series, under the direction of Moe’s Masahiro Hiraoka. Shingo Nagai is overseeing the scriptwriting process, while Hidehiro Asama is responsible for character design. Makoto Miyazaki has been chosen as the composer for the series’ music, and Masafumi Mima is in charge of sound production. The reveal of the series’ ending theme song is highly anticipated in the upcoming weeks.
The Magilumiere anime is based on the original manga series, Magilumiere Co. Ltd., written by Sekka Iwata and illustrated by Yu Aoki. The manga was first serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ digital platform in October 2021 and is still ongoing. So far, 105 out of 122 chapters have been compiled into 12 volumes, with the 13th and 14th volumes set to release on September and October 4, 2024 respectively.
Out of the 12 releases, three have already been translated into English, while the fourth and fifth are scheduled to be released on October 15 and December 17, 2024 respectively. The English versions of the series are published by Viz Media and MANGA Plus, and they provide a description of the series as well.
