Major Cameos & Surprises in Deadpool & Wolverine

The lengthy wait is over. Following a six-year absence, Deadpool has made his comeback with his new sidekick, Wolverine.

This year’s most anticipated films and Marvel’s biggest release yet is Deadpool and Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the main roles.

The MCU timeline officially welcomes Reynolds and Jackman with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine. Until now, these characters have only been seen in the Fox universe. However, following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, it is now time for Deadpool and the rest of the Fox X-Men universe to become a part of the MCU family. To commemorate this momentous occasion, the cast of Deadpool & Wolverine includes several renowned actors who have previously appeared in Marvel films outside of the MCU.

The following is a list of all the notable cameos that were featured in Deadpool & Wolverine:

15. Chris Evans As Human Torch

In a surprise turn of events, Chris Evans took on the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch, marking his first time as a superhero. He portrayed the Human Torch in both Fantastic Four and its sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Upon Evans’ initial appearance in “Deadpool and Wolverine,”he is sporting a red and white armband, hinting at a possible return as Captain America. Deadpool predicts the iconic line “Avengers, assemble”instead of Evans’ usual catchphrase “Flame on!”

At the beginning of the film, Deadpool enters the TVA base where a brief archival video of Evans’ Captain America is shown.

14. Actress Jennifer Garner as the character Elektra

After her portrayal of Elektra in 2003’s “Daredevil”and 2005’s “Elektra,”Garner makes her comeback as the character in “Deadpool and Wolverine.”

When she and her friends list the other superheroes that Cassandra has killed, they mention Daredevil’s demise. Dedicated Marvel fans may remember that Ben Affleck, Garner’s former husband, portrayed that character.

Deadpool expresses his condolences to Elektra for the loss of Daredevil.

“As the actors separate off-screen, Elektra adds with a wink to the viewers, “It’s fine.”

Wesley Snipes As Blade

Blade’s reputation precedes that of Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the X-Men in the world of cinema. Wesley Snipes’ performance as the vampire hunter in the 1998 film may have marked the beginning of the modern era of comic book adaptations. Despite a 20-year hiatus following Blade: Trinity, Snipes has returned, boldly declaring, “There has only ever been one Blade.”

“The statement “There will only ever be one Blade”pertains to the problematic reboot featuring Mahershala Ali, which was initially announced in 2019 but has faced multiple delays and script revisions.”

Despite this, fans can rest assured that the upcoming Blade film is still in development hell and will, as promised by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, maintain its R rating.

12. Channing Tatum as Gambit

Channing Tatum’s appearance in the movie is a surprise, as it fulfills his ten-year-long aspiration of portraying the French thief.

Despite its appearance, the cameo was not meant as a tribute to his portrayal of the character, which almost made it onto the big screen in a movie he co-wrote.

Despite his brief appearance in a bad costume and with a terrible French accent, Tatum’s Gambit still manages to provide fantastic humor, as seen when Deadpool mocked the character.

11. Dafne Keen as Laura/X-23

At the time of filming her role as Laura, also known as X-23, in the film Logan, Dafne Keen was 11 years old. Presently, at 19 years old, she is returning to reprise her role.

Laura shares the same abilities and adamantium skeleton as Wolverine since she was created using his DNA, making her his daughter in a technical sense.

Laura was the fourth and final member of the Resistance in the Void, last seen standing over the grave of Wolverine, her surrogate father.

10. Jon Favreau As Happy Hogan

Despite Wade’s attempts at humor, his encounter with Happy did not end well. It is unlikely that his jokes about Happy’s previous job as a personal driver helped the situation.

Jon Favreau’s character, Happy Hogan, who is the Head of Security at Stark Industries, makes a reappearance in the film Deadpool & Wolverine. He returns to interview Wade Wilson, who has a strong desire to achieve success and join the Avengers.

Henry Cavill as Wolverine

Deadpool meets a Wolverine incarnation portrayed by Henry Cavill, which appears to be done for the fans’ enjoyment as the actor was previously linked to the role. The conversation playfully references Cavill’s infamous mustache removal blunder in Justice League, with Deadpool joking that he will be treated better by Disney.

In a rapid sequence, Deadpool journeys through time to find a replacement for Logan, with Cavill’s Wolverine making a brief appearance.

Cavill’s Wolverine is initially observed working on an old motorcycle from behind before eventually turning around to reveal his face.

8. Cassandra Nova’s Team: Pyro, Toad, Lady Deathstrike, Colossus

Cassandra Nova, the main antagonist of Deadpool and Wolverine, has assembled an impressive team of henchmen from past X-Men films. Joining her are Ray Park’s Toad from X-Men, Kelly Hu’s Lady Deathstrike from X-2: X-Men United, Aaron Stanford’s Pyro from X-Men: The Last Stand, Stefan Kapicic’s Colossus from Deadpool, and also Juggernaut.

7. Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15/Verity Willis

Upon discovering the unapproved use of a time ripper device in Mr. Paradox’s (Matthew Macfadyen) area, Hunter B-15 appears in “Deadpool & Wolverine”.

6. Actors Portraying Thor and Hulk

Chris Hemsworth makes a brief appearance as the Asgardian God of Thunder on a TV screen inside the Time Variance Authority headquarters. Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) shows Wade glimpses of his potential life if he were to abandon his reality and enter the Sacred Timeline. On one of the screens, Wade sees himself sobbing in Thor’s arms as he nears his death in the future.

During the scene where Deadpool encounters multiple incarnations of Wolverine, viewers catch a glimpse of a parallel dimension where he is engaged in combat with the Hulk. This is a reference to Wolverine’s appearance in The Incredible Hulk #180-181, where he also fought the green berserker. It is unclear from the angle of the picture whether this version of the Hulk is meant to be Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal or someone else entirely.

5 . Ant-Man (Should)

Despite his death in a giant form, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man remains a crucial part of Cassandra Nova’s foundation. While some may not consider it a traditional cameo, the circumstances of his demise and his eventual descent into the Void are still shrouded in mystery. Despite this, Deadpool’s joke about Rudd’s aging did not go unnoticed by observers.

Tyler Mane as Sabretooth

For decades, fans have been eagerly anticipating the long-awaited showdown between Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and the X-Men’s infamous villain. During the fight, Deadpool offers Wolverine humorous advice and breaks the fourth wall. Despite Wolverine’s command for him to be quiet, Deadpool responds timidly, jokingly claiming to be a big fan. In the end, Wolverine triumphs by beheading Sabretooth.

Fans have eagerly awaited the showdown between Sabretooth and Wolverine ever since Tyler Mane portrayed the character in X-Men, which famously featured a confrontation between the two on the Statue of Liberty. Deadpool even remarks on the decades-long anticipation as Mane’s Sabretooth reprises his role in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Matthew McConaughey: The Cowboy Pool Hustler

In the film Deadpool & Wolverine, Matthew McConaughey made a sneaky appearance as the cowboy version of Deadpool, joining the variants in their encounter with Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’s antihero. Despite being a low-key cameo, fans familiar with McConaughey’s Western-style films would have easily identified him, while others may have completely overlooked his brief appearance.

Nathan Fillion As Headpool

Headpool, a member of the Deadpool Corps and a creation of Marvel comics, stands out for his unique appearance – a disembodied head with a propeller attachment. Portrayed by Nathan Fillion, who has a history of roles in Marvel films, Headpool is a notable character in the Corps.

Fillion’s involvement in all three Guardians of the Galaxy films has been in various capacities. This is especially fitting for the actor, as he is also gearing up for his DCU debut, which not only bolsters his superhero career but also adds to the list of cameos in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ Family Takes on the Deadpool Universe

Ever since the teaser for Deadpool & Wolverine hinted at Lady Deadpool’s appearance, fans have been speculating about the actress behind the mask.

Throughout the duration of the film, the main character’s face remains hidden, but her identity is eventually disclosed in the post-credits scene. Throughout the movie, there are subtle mentions of her name, such as Deadpool’s humorous reference to Gossip Girl and his declaration of “I’m telling Blake!”during a fight.

The eldest daughter, James, deserves credit for transforming into a screaming mutant. In the meantime, the youngest children, 7-year-old Inez as Kidpool and 1-year-old Olin as Babypool, join in on the fun.
