After months of anticipation, a major leak has given Helldivers 2 players a long-awaited look at the Illuminate.
Ever since the game’s release, Helldivers 2 players have eagerly awaited the arrival of the Illuminate faction from the previous game. They have been meticulously analyzing various hints and clues, including in-game tips and a conspicuous purple rift in the fabric of space, for any indication of the faction’s impending appearance.
With each additional breadcrumb in the alluring path, players are increasingly convinced that the Illuminate’s domination is imminent. Thanks to this latest addition to the puzzle, their prediction may actually come true.
A significant leak has been shared on r/HellDiversLeaks, revealing the very first in-game screenshot of an enemy from the Illuminate faction. The legitimacy of the leak has been confirmed by IronS1ghts, a verified leaker who showcased the formidable “Tripod”enemy and its challenging nature to defeat.

The Illuminate Tripod, also known as a Sentinel, is a formidable foe in the game, comparable to other powerful enemies like the Terminid Bile Titan or Automaton Factory Strider. IronS1ghts also provided information on its behavior within the game.
“They explained that the Sentinel’s eye has the ability to fire a beam in three different modes: Horizontal, Vertical, and Erratic. However, breaking the eye will disable this ability and cause it to arc with electricity instead.”
Similar to previous leaks concerning the Illuminate, the Tripod in Helldivers 2 is a significant divergence from its counterpart in the original Helldivers game. In the previous installment, Tripods were approximately the same size as the player and acted as a relatively simplistic enemy for the faction.
Players are already speculating on the ways in which these massive evolutions will result in their inevitable demise. One Helldiver remarked, “It appears that their impact upon falling will undoubtedly lead to my death.”
Currently, there is a conflict between the Helldivers 2 community and the game developers regarding the recent controversial nerfs in the Escalation of Freedom update. However, the players can find solace in the upcoming “Let Super Earth burn”campaign.
