A wedding day that was intended to be intimate for the bride and groom turned into a viral controversy due to the makeup artist of the bridal party overstaying her welcome.
Despite her good intentions, the makeup artist, known on TikTok as ‘thekeylookllc,’ shared multiple apology videos outlining the events that transpired at the wedding on September 7th.
Additionally, members of the bridal party voiced their opinions, defending the bride, who has yet to comment publicly on the situation.
Although the makeup artist swiftly deleted her apology videos, many TikTok users were able to share her original posts.
In one video, the makeup artist, who has been in the industry for five years, explained that she decided to stay and film the wedding party as part of the ‘fiancé anthem’ TikTok trend after hearing that a different content creator had been hired by the bride.
@wutstea Replying to @ heres the first part! wait till part 3 it gets crazyyy 😭😭😭 #fypシ゚viral
Despite the bride stating that the groom was not in favor of TikToks, the makeup artist continued to document the wedding festivities, following the bridal party from their meeting until she was ultimately asked to leave.
Prior to being dismissed, she recorded behind-the-scenes content, including the first look at the bride’s gown, the couple walking down the aisle post-nuptials, and close-up shots of the venue that guests had yet to see.
She even stood in the aisle during the vows at the “unplugged” ceremony, where phones were required to be put away.
“I am so sorry for any of the stress that I caused you regarding the content that I posted,” the makeup artist stated on TikTok after realizing she had caused distress to the wedding party. “To all the bridesmaids and the bridal party, I am truly sorry for any stress I caused. I never intended for this to escalate as it did.”
@mimisrevenge8 She deleted fast asfk but fr like why did u wanna be there so bad😭😭😭#thekeylook #mua #keylooksmakeup #thekeylookllc
After the incident gained attention online, some members of the bridal party criticized the makeup artist for being “disrespectful” and breaching the bride’s boundaries.
“She wasn’t contracted to be a content creator… The moment she began capturing content that interfered with the hired photographers and videographers is when issues arose,” a bridesmaid shared.

The bridesmaid explained that they refrained from intervening earlier in the day to avoid physical confrontation.
“We believed an adult could recognize the situation, but that clearly wasn’t the case,” she remarked, noting that multiple guests felt the makeup artist “lacked self-awareness.”
Although the bride has not yet addressed the issue, the bridesmaid mentioned that she plans to speak on it after returning from her honeymoon.
Earlier this summer, another wedding made headlines when the bride’s venue misrepresented its appearance, leaving her with a disappointing backdrop that obstructed her photos.
