A male individual in his 30s has been taken into custody for falsely portraying a well-known third-generation male idol.
On June 13, 2024, the Seocho Police Station reported that a man in his 30s, known as A, was caught impersonating Kim Jaehyun from the band N.Flying.
One of the victims of A’s impersonation, a woman, reported the incident to the police, resulting in his capture. An official from the Seocho Police Station confirmed that A was charged with fraud and theft.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the woman who reported A was not his only victim of impersonation. Multiple individuals were discovered to have been affected by his actions, resulting in various damages and even financial loss for some.
A, who impersonated Kim Jaehyun, actively took part in the investigation as a witness.
This is not the initial instance of someone impersonating Kim Jaehyun. FNC Entertainment actually had to issue a statement addressing the issue, expressing concern over the harm and damage to the idol’s reputation caused by these individuals.
Their statement was as follows,

Through reports made by fans, we are aware that an individual is impersonating Kim Jaehyun, using his identity to approach others and engage in misbehaviors, which is hurting Kim Jaehyun’s reputation. We ask the fans to remain vigilant to prevent any potential harm.”
