A Japanese man gained viral attention for attending his friend’s wedding dressed as a Mobile Suit Gundam, in response to being asked to wear a traditional “suit”for the occasion.
During a marriage ceremony, wedding attire holds significant importance as brides and/or grooms desire all attendees to appear their best. However, one man could not resist teasing his friend.
On X, a post by user ‘zgokzogok’ went viral as he shared how his friend had requested him to wear a “suit” to the reception. However, he decided to playfully interpret the request and ended up wearing an epic cosplay instead.
Upon his arrival, he was dressed as the original Mobile Suit Gundam, RX-78-2, and he looked absolutely stunning from head to toe.
Although it may come as a surprise, it was actually celebrated and completely acceptable due to the identity of the couple who were getting married.

According to Sora News, the couple who recently got married were Ryuryu and Ruby, both of whom are cosplayers. They even represented Japan at the 2019 World Cosplay Summit.
Despite Ryuryu’s usual tough demeanor, he couldn’t help but praise Zgokzogok for his impressive X skills. He even went as far as expressing his approval of the outstanding Gundam cosplay.
“I was filled with joy when Gundam arrived!”he exclaimed. “Thank you so much for making time in your busy schedule to come.”
Another person at the wedding, in addition to Zgokzogok, also came dressed up. In a video shared from the event, this attendee was dressed as Eva Unit-01 from Evangelion and engaged in a playful battle with the Gundam.

Additionally, in the backdrop of Zgokzogok’s viral photo, there was another guest donning the attire of a Yu-Gi-Oh duelist. Overall, the event resembled more of a Halloween bash or ComicCon rather than a traditional wedding reception, which only added to the exhilaration.
Although these were very unique circumstances, this does not necessarily mean that you should wear a Gundam outfit if you ever receive an invitation to a wedding. Many couples can be quite stringent with their dress code.
In May, a bride and groom’s unconventional wedding rules gained widespread attention on social media for their instructions, including a ban on twerking and a requirement for guests to leave if they disliked the music.
