Man goes viral after discovering “weird” hidden detail in 7-Eleven logo

After noticing a strange detail in the 7-Eleven logo, a man’s post on Instagram has gone viral. The surprising reason behind it may surprise you.

Alex and James Lock, known as ‘twosometravellers’ on Instagram, gained popularity when they shared a video highlighting an unexpected discrepancy in the logo of 7-Eleven.

The footage depicts James standing outside a 7-Eleven store in Japan, holding an umbrella and wearing a perplexed look on his face.

The text overlay uncovered the reason for his confusion, noting that the convenience store’s logo consists of all capital letters except for the final “n.”

The caption of the video was filled with inquiries, such as: “How did we overlook this? Why is it so small? Was it ever larger? What other things are we unaware of? What is their motive?”

At the time of writing, the video had quickly gone viral, with over 148,000 likes and a thousand comments as viewers expressed their confusion about the easily overlooked detail.

Despite the fact that many had not previously noticed the “weird”detail, one person suggested it could be an “epic mistake”. Nevertheless, it has been revealed that the specific capitalization of the logo was deliberately chosen.

According to the company’s website, founder Joe C. Thompson Jr. aimed to design a memorable logo that would distinguish the brand. After trying out various letter combinations, he ultimately chose the lowercase ‘n’ to achieve a unique and recognizable brand identity,”a commenter shared.

They reiterated, “It’s a deliberate decision in the design that has now become an iconic element of the 7-Eleven brand!”

“As one person pointed out, it involves some geometry. Typography design encompasses much more than what is visible, and this serves as a prime illustration of that.”
