Man shocked after Verizon accidentally sends him $439M phone bill

A viral TikTok video shocked both the man who shared it and countless others after revealing a bill from Verizon totaling $439M.

After switching his phone carrier, TikToker deathby2wheels received a bill from the company for the remaining balance on his previous Verizon plan.

The individual disclosed that there were a pair of iPhones and corresponding Apple Watches under the Verizon plan, and estimated the amount he would have to pay to the company.

“Let’s be kind and just say that I owe them $5,000,”he suggested.

The TikToker proceeded to recite the opening statement of the notice, with a particular emphasis on the option to pay the full balance before revealing the amount of $439,092,988 due.

It was quite evident that the notice was a mistake, and several individuals expressed their ideas on how such an error could have occurred in the comments section.

“One user responded that while working in collections, the accountant mistakenly included Verizon’s total debt to be collected on every notice, rather than specifying individual amounts.”

Another individual noted that the letter mistakenly listed the date instead of the recipient’s name. “It’s definitely a dead giveaway, especially since the date column should contain the name,”they responded.

A third viewer remarked, “I’ve already watched another Verizon video today. The other one featured a girl with two watches and two phones, and it had 388 million views.”

Similarly, another person was shocked by a steep bill before him. In February, a different woman received a $1000 charge from Subway that caught her off guard.
