Ben Willoughby was frustrated by Captain Kerry Titheradge’s attempts to micromanage him during Below Deck Season 11.
Captain Kerry Titheradge decided to promote Ben Willoughby to the position of Bosun on Below Deck Season 11 following the termination of Jared Woodin.
Due to the high number of firings in franchise history during the season, Captain Kerry took precautionary measures by conducting walkthroughs around the boat before each charter to ensure the crew’s progress and prevent any potential mistakes.
During a clip from the May 20 episode of Below Deck, the captain visited the sundeck to check the boat’s exterior and reprimanded Ben for not maintaining the storage area. He also observed that the jetskis required another rinse as they had become covered in salt stains.
“According to Ben’s confessional, it seems like Captain Kerry is getting agitated. With it being the final charter, Ben urges him to relax and not stress out.”
“I constantly find myself holding my tongue until the very end, simply nodding my head and agreeing with a forced “Yes sir,”as it can be quite frustrating.”
Ben expressed his frustration with Captain Kerry’s micromanagement and confessed that he was tired of it and couldn’t seem to please him.
Upon reading his interview with EW, the Bosun publicly denounced Captain Kerry and criticized the negative comments made by the captain.
Captain Kerry stated that Ben did not respond positively to his leadership approach and expressed concern that he may not be able to complete the entire charter season.
Ben responded to the captain’s remarks in a post on his Instagram account on March 27, where he called out the captain for showing disrespect towards his work ethic and yachting career.
Upon seeing Ben’s social media post about Captain Kerry, fans were uncertain about the origin of the dispute between the two Below Deck stars.
After viewing the upcoming episode of Below Deck, they may gain a better understanding of the tension between Ben and Captain Kerry and their current dynamic.
