Elemental damage plays a significant role in gameplay and serves as a precursor to the status effects that often dictate combat scenarios. Crafting a build that effectively leverages elemental damage can seem daunting; however, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to effectively manage elemental damage in Enotria: The Last Song.
Managing Elemental Damage in Enotria
Enotria features four distinct types of elemental damage: Vis, Malanno, Gratia, and Fatuo. Each type is linked to a unique status effect and also behaves as traditional elemental damage. Deliver sufficient Vis damage to an enemy weak to it, and you’ll not only inflict additional damage but also impose the Dizzy status effect.
Typically, enemies won’t simply be susceptible to a single element; rather, they’ll exhibit relationships with specific elements. For example, an element can be strong against some foes and weak against others. If you’re familiar with games like Pokémon or Fire Emblem, this concept will resonate. For instance, Water is effective against Fire but ineffective against Grass, while a Sword is dominant over an Axe yet vulnerable to a Lance.
The elemental interactions in Enotria are best compared to a four-way Rock Paper Scissors dynamic, illustrated in the screenshot above. The hierarchy is as follows: Vis overcomes Malanno, which trumps Gratia, which then surpasses Fatuo, only for Fatuo to defeat Vis. The connections between non-adjacent elements (Vis and Gratia; Malanno and Fatuo) do not yield special advantages or disadvantages.
How to Maximize Elemental Damage in Enotria
To maximize elemental damage in Enotria, you simply need a method to infuse your weapon with elemental power paired with high stats in the respective element. Equip a weapon that specializes in your chosen element, and utilize the Innovation that grants elemental damage to your weapon through the appropriate Mask Line.
For instance, if you aim to optimize Malanno damage, equip a weapon with high Malanno stats (such as the Silver Wasp). Following this, select the Malanno Path Innovation along with a swift Mask Line for the fourth slot. Using this slot will allow you to infuse your weapon with Malanno consistently. Additionally, aim to enhance your Status Power attribute. While this stat influences the efficacy of status effects rather than elemental damage, the two are so interlinked that boosting them together is advantageous.
Maximizing All Elemental Damage in Enotria
While specializing in a single type of elemental damage is straightforward, becoming a generalist can be far more fulfilling. Fortunately, In Enotria’s multi-character system, you don’t need to sacrifice your specialized build.
I discovered that combining a character who excels in one elemental type with a versatile elementalist and a melee build without magic covers most challenges effectively. Your generalist elementalist should have the necessary Innovations and Mask Lines to infuse your weapon with every elemental type except that of your specialist. Ideally, they should carry a weapon that holds solid ratings across all these elements or even two distinct weapons with excellent attributes.
Don’t forget to equip Innovations that enhance Mask Line loading speeds, ensuring you can trigger elemental damage efficiently. I recommend adding the State of Harmony Innovation as well, which extends the duration of elemental infusions. While you’ll always have access to the elemental strength hierarchy on-screen, keep in mind how to activate those elements effectively.
