Flat2VR, a group of modders committed to converting “flat games”into VR experiences, recently revealed their latest mod for Manor Lords, which transforms the game into a virtual reality version.
Despite only being compatible with mouse and keyboard, the game functions flawlessly in six-degree-of-freedom VR thanks to UEVR, a mod that assists developers and modders in bringing games to life in a virtual reality setting.
It is probably unexpected that Manor Lords can be easily converted to VR, which is likely due to the game’s development using Unreal Engine 4. This decade-old engine already has a wealth of existing mods and support, making it a favorable choice.
Slavic Magic of Manor Lord was quick to take notice of Flat2VR’s efforts, as the solo developer was left impressed by the mod. They expressed their amazement, stating, “I have no idea how it’s done, but I’m impressed by how well it works.”
Despite an incredibly hectic release week for Manor Lords, the mod continues to gain popularity, with over a million copies sold and even causing a temporary crash of its Steam Store page. It has also achieved the status of being the most wish-listed game on Steam and reaching a peak of 173,00 players.
