Fortnite has once again transformed its map for Chapter 5 Season 4: Absolute Doom, introducing new POI locations, landmarks, and significant map changes.
Chapter 5 Season 4 commenced on August 16, reintroducing Doctor Doom to the Battle Royale experience, allowing him to seize control of the island. This legendary character has established his domain with the new Castle Doom POI and several massive Marvel updates scattered across the map.
Epic’s 31.10 update has also unleashed the Doom’s Chosen mythic powers that players can acquire by conquering the Isle of Doom floating island.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 New Map
The new Battle Royale island map for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
Season 3 witnessed a colossal sandstorm that engulfed the Fortnite island as the Wasteland dominated the lower region of the map. However, Chapter 5 Season 4 has shifted focus to the upper part of the island, replacing Pleasant Piazza in the southwest.
These map enhancements revolve around Doctor Doom’s dominance on the island, featuring his own Castle Doom POI alongside various inspired Doom statues, landmarks, and items throughout the map.
Castle Doom, The Raft, and Doomstadt are the three principal new POIs introduced in Fortnite. Additionally, the landmark Doom’s Courtyard has been integrated as a named location visible on this season’s map. Any new named locations can be identified on the above map marked with red icons.
Moreover, a gigantic Galactus head has mysteriously appeared in the top right corner of the map, accompanied by a Fantastic Four landmark, hinting at an imminent collaboration.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 New POIs
Here’s a list of all the new Chapter 5 Season 4 POI locations:
- Castle Doom
- Doomstadt
- The Raft
- Doom’s Courtyard (Landmark)
Castle Doom
The Doombot can be spotted roving around the new Castle Doom POI.
Castle Doom is one of the newly established POIs on the Battle Royale island in Chapter 5 Season 4. It is the lair of Doctor Doom, featuring the NPC boss Doombot moving about the area. Located towards the northeastern corner of the map, it has replaced the former Classy Courts POI.
This vast castle also serves as a forge, which Epic describes: “Its forge burns red as each metal clank rings ever closer to the completion of Doctor Doom’s impervious new armor.” The specifics of this ‘impervious new armor’ and its ultimate use remain a mystery.
Doomstadt
Doomstadt has been integrated as a new POI for Chapter 5 Season 4.
Doomstadt, governed by Doctor Doom in the Marvel Universe, signifies his authority during this season. This small settlement comprises various wooden and stone structures, alongside a prominent Doctor Doom statue, also found in several locations throughout the map.
The Lavish Lair POI, a grand manor introduced at the start of Chapter 5, has been replaced by Doomstadt for this season. A nearby landmark called the Fractured Four features a substantial Fantastic Four logo, teasing their anticipated arrival.
The Raft
Doctor Doom is utilizing The Raft prison to recruit new allies.
The Raft POI has taken the place of Pleasant Piazza. This prison is situated on its own secure island, surrounded by water, to the southwest of the map, directly beneath The Underworld.
Doctor Doom has summoned The Raft to the island, serving as a prison for supervillains and extraterrestrial threats to join his army. You can encounter Doom’s henchmen wandering about; once defeated, they can be persuaded to fight alongside you in your Battle Royale encounters.
Doom’s Courtyard (Landmark)
A grand Doctor Doom statue is located at the Doom’s Courtyard landmark.
Adjacent to Castle Doom, directly west, lies another new site known as Doom’s Courtyard. Though categorized as a landmark instead of a POI by Epic, it is still marked as a named location on the island map.
This area pays tribute to the new ruler, featuring a large Doctor Doom monument at its center and is considerably smaller than the newly introduced main POIs.
31.10 Update Map Changes
Fortnite’s inaugural major update for Chapter 5 Season 4 has significantly altered the Battle Royale island, introducing Doctor Doom’s Isle of Doom.
Isle of Doom
The Isle of Doom is a new floating Loot Island that will be featured in Fortnite until October 5, 2024. However, this revamped Loot Island only has a 5-10% chance of spawning in any Battle Royale match and will not appear in Ranked games at all.
The Isle of Doom appears in rare matches where players can land to claim Doom’s Chosen powers.
Players will receive a notification during gameplay indicating the imminent appearance of the Isle of Doom, along with an icon on the map revealing its precise position. Upon arrival, you will discover Doom’s Cauldron situated centrally, which you need to capture to transform into Doom’s Chosen.
Activating Doom’s Chosen grants you 500 Health and 500 Shield, unlimited sprint ability, a Shield Siphon with each elimination, and four brand-new abilities for use. This makes these mythic powers incredibly rare and superior to any other weapons or items available in the game.
With such low spawn rates, expect a rush of players heading towards the floating POI once it becomes available on the map. Be prepared to approach swiftly and with strong loot to eliminate any enemies and claim the transformation to Doom’s Chosen first.
31.20 Update Map Changes
Iron Man brings his complete arsenal to combat Doom. You can even meet the brilliant inventor behind the suit.
Tony Stark has made quite a dramatic entrance with this update. Here’s what to expect on the new map:
Landing Pad Camps
Six new Landing Pad Camps have been strategically positioned by Tony Stark around the island. These can be located South of Latverian Station, North of Grim Gate, South of Reckless Railways, West of The Raft, South of Pantheon Path, and North of Nitrodrome. These pods randomly drop during matches and may contain Stark or War Machine Armories, featuring their complete superhero gear.
Iron Man as an NPC
The iconic Iron Man has made his debut as an NPC, found at the Other Windmill, North of Grim Gate. He offers:
- Stark Rifles
- Repulsor Kits
- Patch Up
The Marvel antagonist for this season has also received a reworked skin, multiple skin styles, and a variety of cosmetics as part of the Absolute Doom Battle Pass.
