Mark Zuckerberg says he’s “more comfortable” with new appearance after AI interview

Mark Zuckerberg recently appeared in an interview with YouTuber Rowan Cheung discussing Llama AI, sporting a new look with big, curly hair and tan lines resembling a California surfer. The Meta CEO explained that his change in appearance is simply a result of wanting to feel comfortable.

Since its launch in 2004, Facebook has been the brainchild of Mark Zuckerberg, who has successfully expanded the company – now known as Meta – into a multi-billion dollar empire, which includes popular platforms such as Instagram, Threads, Quest VR, and others.

In the past, Zuckerberg has altered his style a few times. However, it wasn’t until 2023 that users started noticing a significant change in the appearance of the tech mogul. In April, social media users were eagerly admiring Zuck after he shared a video of himself wearing a turtle neck and gold chain.

On July 23, during an interview, Zuckerberg’s appearance once again sparked conversation as he was seen with big, curly hair and tan lines around his eyes.

According to a Threads user, the Meta CEO appears to be more at ease as he has aged, to which Zuckerberg expressed his agreement.

He stated, “I launched Facebook when I was 19 and had no knowledge of managing a company or communicating publicly.”

There were numerous feedback loops that caught my interest. Some boosted my confidence, such as realizing my ability to make sound technical and product decisions on a large scale. However, receiving negative feedback about my awkwardness and communication style has made me more cautious and inclined to plan and rehearse my interactions.

“While it may not be my strongest attribute, I am gradually becoming more at ease with embracing my true self as I grow older.”

During the widely viewed interview, Zuckerberg conversed with YouTuber Rowan Cheung regarding Meta’s latest AI model, Llama 3.1. Zuck proposed the concept of utilizing AI clones of themselves as a means for content creators to delegate some of their tasks.

According to him, there will be a significant breakthrough where all creators will be able to integrate their social media data and train these systems to align with their beliefs, goals, and endeavors.

…Then individuals will have the opportunity to engage with it. It will serve as an artistic representation crafted by creators, allowing people to interact with it in various manners.
