Markiplier Fans Panic as RIP Mark Trends on Twitter/X

Fans of popular YouTuber Markiplier were alarmed when the phrase “RIP Mark”started trending on Twitter/X on May 13, 2024.

Despite being one of the most popular gaming creators on YouTube with over 36 million subscribers, Mark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach’s fanbase was thrown into a frenzy when the hashtag “RIP Mark” started trending on X.

Despite this, fans were relieved to discover that the YouTuber is alive and in good health. The term, on the other hand, gained popularity due to the passing of American actor and producer Mark Damon, renowned for his performances in 60’s spaghetti Westerns.

In 1960, he received a Golden Globe for his performance in ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ and later established multiple production companies during his career in Hollywood, producing films throughout the 1970s.

On May 12, 2024, the passing of Damon was mourned by fans on social media who celebrated his contributions as an actor and filmmaker. However, there was some confusion due to the presence of other notable figures who also bear the name ‘Mark’.

Despite the humorous tone of many of the posts, the tag “RIP Mark”was flooded with worried fans of Markiplier expressing their shock and confusion.

“One fan wrote that “RIP Mark”was trending and they were momentarily frightened.”

“The statement “RIP Mark”caused me to briefly panic and think that Markiplier had passed away,”another person confessed.

Despite concerns from some fans, the popular term was not actually referencing the renowned actor and Star Wars legend Mark Hamill.

Just like many others, I couldn’t help but notice “RIP Mark”trending. My heart sank at the thought of losing Mark Hamill. However, I quickly remembered that Hoppus had been ill and hoped that he was now doing better. I also prayed that the trending news did not involve Markiplier. This fan’s comment serves as a reminder of the significance of last names.

As of now, Markiplier has not made any public statements about the social media controversy. However, he has been occupied with various projects and has not posted a video in four weeks, possibly due to his dedication to his upcoming movie, ‘Iron Lung.’

The YouTuber provided an update on the situation in a video on March 12, stating that the movie is in its “final stretch.” Fans were sympathetic towards his busy schedule and are eagerly anticipating further details about the horror film. Mark assured fans that it will have a theatrical release “soon.”
