Marvel Rivals Adds Unlikely Fan-Favorite Hero to Closed Beta

Marvel Rivals plans to expand its already extensive 21-character roster with the addition of two more superheroes, Thor and Jeff, during the Closed Beta weekend of July 27.

NetEase and Marvel Games announced at the San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 26 that on July 27, two new superheroes would be added to the Marvel Rivals roster through a patch.

Presently, there is a wide range of 21 characters available for players to choose from, which includes the highly anticipated additions of Venom and Adam Warlock that have been receiving positive reviews from fans.

Despite facing criticism for their Twitch Drops, NetEase is still dedicated to expanding the player base in the beta. Those lucky enough to gain access will have the opportunity to play as two highly sought-after characters, beloved by longtime Marvel enthusiasts.

The Strategist class hero, Jeff The Land Shark, and the Vanguard class hero, Thor Odinson, were featured in a 49-second teaser released by Marvel. In the teaser, Jeff could be seen singing to the tune of the Marvel Rivals theme and dancing on screen.

With the teaser’s debut, players are buzzing with excitement, as one user exclaimed, “He’s such a precious little cutie! I can’t wait to play as him!”Another user added, “We’re definitely on board for this! Can’t wait to see all of the new characters.”

A third individual remarked, “Jeff must truly be the most dominant Strategist, I insist.”Despite this, numerous others passionately requested for Deadpool to be included in the game, due to the buzz surrounding the recent release of the latest MCU movie.

Thor and Jeff’s abilities and equipment have yet to be revealed, but the update is expected to be released on July 27th. Additionally, a three-minute cinematic trailer for Rivals was released, showcasing the addition of characters such as Dr. Doom to the game in the coming updates.
